Glendalough: A Celtic Soul Journey
by Michael Rodgers & Gill McCarthy

Glendalough in county Wicklow is one of the cradles of Irish Christianity. It became an important centre and place of pilgrimage when the monastery of St. Kevin flourished from the 6th to the 12th centuries. Thousands of people still visit Glendalough every year to walk in its beautiful surroundings and visit its ancient and sacred sites.

Following in their footsteps this soulful book explores the environment, history, legends and timeless mystery of Glendalough and reflects on some of the themes that attract people to Celtic spirituality today. Readers are invited to enter into a personal and experiential journey and encouraged to find connections with their own soul search along the way.

Fr. Michael Rodgers SPS has lived in Glendalough for the last ten years working with groups and individuals and leading pilgrimages through the valley.

Gill McCarthy lives and works in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow and has been a key influence in the development of Tearmann Spirituality Centre, Glendalough.

Padruig McFarlane-Barrow A.R.I.B.A is a professional architect and artist. Born in Scotland and now living in Ireland, he works as a freelance artist in watercolours, charcoal and pencil.
